I AM, a PNW singer-songwriter / artist / tea drinker / bearded song smith + amateur stout beer enthusiast.

WE ARE, an acoustic neo-folk rhythmic duo consisting of myself Paul Mauer, on vocals / lyrics / acoustic guitars and Nathan Gherman providing the groove on percussion and drumkit.

The Pacific Northwest is an amazing place to grow up. The entire area holds to this day a sense of fascination, wonder, and an overwhelming feeling of welcome and mystery for me. It is a Very tactile environment both the people, the music, and of course the weather! its a pretty weird place, I love it! I hail from the capitol city of Olympia, WA, an awesome city to be tutored in the way of music. I have been in many bands and played with more musicians at I can count.

My current and long lasting passion in Music is as the Singer-Songwriter and main creative force behind "Paul Mauer and the Silence". But I would be at a disadvantage without my creative percussionist and amazing human Nathan Gehrman, who fleshes out the rhythm and is the backbone of the mind following the soul! We have recently started work on a new Record No title as of yet...the musical style that is being passed around as "Pretty Garage Folk". Planning on getting into the studio Summer/Fall of 2016!
