Naomi Moon Siegel is a Seattle-based trombonist, composer and producer. Reaching beyond her jazz background, her debut solo album Shoebox View cinematically combines haunting folk melodies, fantastical soundscapes and patient arrangements and will be released in the summer of 2016. Siegel records and performs actively with her folk/punk/jazz duo Syrinx Effect and is a member of Wayne Horvitz’s Royal Room Collective Music Ensemble. She received the Earshot Jazz Award for Emerging Artist of the Year in 2012 and three of her ensembles have been featured in the Earshot Jazz Festival.
Siegel has performed with such luminaries as Thione Diop, Skerik, Stuart Dempster, Ahamefule J. Oluo, Das Racist, Allison Miller, Julian Priester, Tata Dindin and The Salam Band and Wayne Horvitz. She has made appearances at the Earshot Jazz Festival, San Jose Jazz Festival, Monterrey Blues Festival, Sasquatch! and Bumbershoot Music Festival.
