“Don’t let the pretty smile fool you!”, is one of Larysa Jaye’s favorite sayings. This musical talent is truly a story of resilience on display. Formerly known as, Larysa Hamilton, she has been a Nashville based artist for the last 5 years. Her journey is one that shows the power of never quitting and believing in another chance.
Growing up as a young girl in Kansas City, KS, she never imagined that her path could ever lead to the music industry, especially not one in Music City. As many artists’ stories, she also grew up the daughter of a pastor and minister. That path is what led her to run to music as an outlet. Larysa’s family moved from the inner city of KC, to the sticks in Smyrna, TN, to a beautiful suburb in Blue Springs, MO, and last but not the least, the country land of Nashville, TN. Finding each move a little harder to adjust to, L.J. found her release through the family piano many late nights with tears and a notebook. It was at the age of 16, she picked up the guitar and was able to really develop her own very, unique sound.
Fast forward to today, a lot has changed in this songstress’ world. Recently married to Nate Jackson out of Nashville, TN, in August of 2015, it seems like there’s nothing this lady can’t do. But through it all, it’s her humbling story that keeps Larysa at a relatable place with her fans. Having three children out of wedlock and struggling between being the “starving artist” and being a good mother, she never wants to mislead that she has ever had it all together. Every thought and every lyric to each and every song is thoughtfully construed to remind herself and others that we’re all human.
