A highly experienced 'Cellist, Jes Burgess excels in the providing versatility and quality performance to performances, recording sessions, and events of all varieties. While classically trained, Burgess is an impressively fluid musician, able to take on the character and quality of any style and genre of music, including electronica and international.
With tutelage from UCLA, Burgess has performed throughout the Los Angeles area, conquering major venues including Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Gibson Ampitheatre, House of Blues, and nearly every bar on the legendary Rock Walk of Sunset Blvd, and has even made it onto television as a background soloist (Meet the Smiths), and in the iconic Paris By Night DVDs (Shows 109, 110, 111).
Within LA, Jes also played pop violin in various acts as a bandmate and soloist. On violin, she is experienced with all things contemporary including Dj/edm and anything that rocks.
She has even ventured out to Nome, Alaska in 2014 and played with Arlo Hannigan during Iditarod.

In the Bay Area, she has performed with some small orchestras and chamber orchestras, but more excitingly with Halou in notable venues in San Francisco.
In 2016-2017 Jes performed her own original music, consisting of 'cello and synthesizer, as a one-woman-band called Made by Dr Light around the Bay Area as an opener and a headliner.

Jes Burgess is proud to bring her extensive experience and personal flair to her new home, and to the Bay Area as a whole!

Burgess is an active teacher in Mountain View, inspiring aspiring cellists in her community of all ages with her technique and playing experiences.

She primarily plays cello of traditional and contemporary styles of all kinds and any level,
but is also available for pop violin.
