About Hurrah! A Bolt of Light!

“...Hurrah! A Bolt of Light! dragged themselves from their native New York to the other side of the country in LA to record their self-titled full-length album with John Fields, producer of artists the likes of P!nk, Switchfoot and The Presets, and the result is a polished record full of dance worthy hooks.

“I Sold My Soul”, a personal favourite, kicks the debut album in style with big crowd chanting sucking you in before rolling into the lead vocals, but don’t get too comfortable as you’ll be right in the thick of the bands bellowing once again, especially in the lead single “Bones”.

The album isn’t all foot-stomping though, with “Life Is A Mystery” calming things down and giving listeners something to have a groove to, you’ll almost forget the groups anthemic likeness in sound to that of Bruce Springsteen. The main difference? Lead vocalist Wil Farr’s vocals sound as though his voice is about to cave in, giving it a sense of dispair and thus sincerity that their contemporaries...
